Upholstery Cushions Cut to Shape and Size
Need foam cut to size for your next upholstery project? We can help you with that as well. Whether you need regular box cushion foam or something more complex, Foam Direct can provide high-quality foam, cut to the size and shape you need.
To get started, simply follow the instructions on our foam cut to size homepage. Input the measurements you need and select which foam you’d like us to use; we’ll take care of the rest. You can even choose to add dacron and stockinette to your order. This helps to protect your cushion foam, gives them greater loft and makes it easier to insert the foam into your cushion covers.
Why Upholsterers Choose Foam Direct
There are plenty of reasons why upholsterers choose to shop at Foam Direct. Aside from having an expansive range of foam to choose from, many appreciate the convenience our service offers.
Many upholsterers purchase upholstery foam sheets in bulk. This helps to ensure that they have the foam to hand when they need it. It’s also a direct result of slower delivery times from many other upholstery foam suppliers.
Whilst this method works, it’s also flawed! Buying upholstery foam in bulk is expensive and you run the risk of having excess materials that never get used. Wasted materials eat into profit margins and that’s no good for anyone.
With Foam Direct, you can buy in smaller, more manageable quantities. This takes up much less room in workspaces and means that your materials are less likely to go to waste. Because we offer a next working day delivery service, you can order upholstery foam and receive it the very next day.
Uses for Upholstery Foam
Upholstery Foam has a variety of uses. It can be used for reupholstering old furniture or making new pieces. Above, you’ll find all of the upholstery foam sheets which we stock. This ranges from regular high density upholstery foam to reticulated foam for boat cushions.
Upholstery Foam for Boat Cushions
We stock sheets of reticulated foam. This is a unique type of upholstery foam that has a mesh-like appearance. The great thing about reticulated foam is that it has the ability to filter water through it like a sieve. Because of this, it is often used to make boat cushions. Other uses for this unique type of upholstery foam include outdoor cushions and poolside furniture cushions.
Budget Upholstery Foam
Recon foam (also called reconstituted foam or chip foam) is a heavy-duty foam used for making seat cushions used in bars, on buses, cushions in places of worship and much more. This upholstery foam is made by recycling various grades of foam offcuts. The offcuts are fed into a shredder which turns them into crumbs, these can then be reformed into chip foam.
We also stock sheets of acoustic foam. Our acoustic foam has an NRC rating of 0.85, meaning it can absorb up to 85% of sound wave energy. Acoustic foam is used to absorb sound wave energy and ultimately improve room acoustics.
Packaging foam sheets are used to protect items in storage and throughout transit. HLB (high load-bearing) foam is a foam with a high impact threshold that can protect a variety of items. It is often used to line various containers such as boxes, flight cases, briefcases, crates and much more.
