Frequently Asked Questions

foam frequently asked questions

What is Foam Cut to Size?

This is a service we offer which allows customers to purchase foam in the shape and size of their choosing. Your order will have clean edges and be square cut.

What are Foam Sheets?

Foam sheets are cut directly from a block of foam. Due to the manufacturing process, the sheets you order may not be exactly square and may sometimes have imperfect edges.

Foam Colour Changing

There is nothing wrong with your foam if it changes colour. This can sometimes happen when exposed to sunlight over long or short periods as it is not UV protected. The same can occur if it is exposed to certain gases such as nitrogen from motor emissions. The colour of foam, in general, can vary slightly between the manufacturing process.

What Colour is Your Foam?

Foam is available in a variety of colours, this makes it easier to quickly identify the grade. Two of the market-leading foam grades in the UK are blue.

Does Foam Soften?

Foam does soften with use. The lower the density of the grade the more it is likely to soften. You should expect softening of around 10-15% on average.

Foam Smell

You may notice that your foam has a distinct odour to begin with. This is a result of the manufacturing process and is not harmful to you. The smell will dissipate over time and will do so faster if it is left in a well-ventilated area.

Measuring Cushions

We have put together a separate guide on how to measure foam cushions. You can find it here.Where to Send Files & Templates
